What I handle

Six things, all of them done from the Exeter office, in person where it matters.

Most people who call here are somewhere on the same road. A letter arrives and gets put aside. Another one comes. Eventually one of them says something about a lien or a levy, and by then the thing has grown into a problem that keeps you awake.

The reason that happens is that nothing about it resolves itself. Interest runs, penalties stack, and the deadlines printed on those notices are the only chances you get to appeal before the Internal Revenue Service acts. Each one that passes takes an option off the table permanently.

So the work below is mostly about stopping the clock and finding out where you actually stand, which is usually better than people fear and never as bad as the letters make it sound.

If you are not sure which of these describes your situation, call and read me the letter. The notice number in the corner usually answers it in about two minutes.

Not sure which one you need?
