Privacy policy
What we do with your information, in plain English.
This website
This site collects nothing from you. There are no contact forms, no newsletter signup, no accounts and no way to submit documents through it. The only action on the site is the phone number, which opens your phone app.
We run no advertising trackers and no analytics here. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server records of requests, which is how any website works.
Information you give us as a client
Everything else happens off this website: by phone, by secure document link, or in the office. When you become a client you hand over a great deal of sensitive material, including Social Security numbers, income records, bank information and IRS correspondence. We treat all of it as confidential and we use it for one thing, which is the work you hired us for.
Who we share it with
We do not sell client information and we do not share it for marketing. We disclose it only:
- to the taxing authorities, as part of the work you asked for and with your authorisation
- where you have told us in writing to send it somewhere, such as to a lender or an attorney
- where the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order
- to service providers who help us run the practice and are bound to keep it confidential
As Enrolled Agents we are also bound by federal law on the confidentiality of tax return information, and by Circular 230, the rules governing practice before the Internal Revenue Service.
How long we keep it
We scan and retain client records, which is deliberate and works in your favour. If you lose your documents years from now, we usually still have what you need to rebuild your tax records. Records are held securely for as long as we need them for professional and legal reasons.
